what the picky kid is eating these days

Nutella and peanut butter sandwiches. Every morning. And sometimes for lunch and dinner, too. He never gets sicks of them. White rice. Buttered noodles. Mac and cheese (with hidden cauliflower puree) on occasion. Quesedillas with pinto beans and avocado (I'd feed him this every meal if he would eat it that often). Pizza. Cheese crackers. And that is literally it. Seven items. Over and over and over again.

  1. I'm not a Twitter person, but I just noticed something on your Twitter feed that said Bethany Galeotti, which gave me an idea for your little guy...

My whole family took a very long detour on a road trip to a family reunion, for the very exact purpose of eating at Galeotti's restaurant. My daughter was about one at the time, and crawled all over the place. For once, her older brother was the well behaved one!

Anyways, the food there was wonderful. They had a menu item that might tempt your son out of sheer novelty and presentation. There was fruit, I think on skewers, and a sugar mixture that you got to dip things in. There was something special in the sugar, but I forget what it was. I wish I had a picture... I can't imagine any child not wanting to at least take one bite.

    1. Washington might be a ways to go for dinner but if it could get him to eat more...hmm :D

  2. Jackson likes this thing called honey-baked lentils. Too much sugar, but good protein. Let me know if you want the recipe. (FWIW, this sounds like what I eat!)

    1. Mmmm. Anything with honey is good. Yes please. FWIW I wish I had written down what I used to eat before baby. Was probably pretty limited (lots of cereal and PB&Js) but now I eat to set a good example.
