saturdays are our favorite good food days

Sweet potato pancakes for breakfast (with this recipe). (Do you have any idea how hard it is to find canned pumpkin six months from Thanksgiving?! Hence the substitution.) Roast beef for lunch (what can I say, the kid likes red meat.) And then I slipped chopped up spinach into his mac n cheese for dinner. Woot!
And then we bundled him up for an early meal at SugarFish. Couldn't feed him the sushi, obviously, but we let him suck on the edamame and eat the beans, which somehow he enjoyed more than he does at home.
Oh and then I got a piece of Celebration cake (vanilla cake with confetti sprinkles baked in and vanilla frosting--one of those kid at heart type of cakes) from Susie Cakes on the way home. OMG. I've never been a huge fan of the place but this was insanely good. Though I had to keep hidden until Ben went to bed because we didn't need a repeat of the birthday episode.

  1. So this is a blog about feeding your inner child as well as the 1-year-old.
Sounds like a perfectly delicious day.
